<p>SentientSystem calculates the station’s working efficiency using a real-time,&nbsp; whole-of-plant simulation running on instrumented data.</p>



<p>It then learns the cause and effect that operator control points have on system efficiency.</p>

<p id="block-ceb54cd0-3ad8-4108-bb24-99e7ba310a2d">SentientAlert’s early warning capability is shown in the above diagram. An alert on an air inlet fan was detected and notified after a change in behaviour.</p>



<p id="block-9e1047eb-8870-477e-a77c-e66f7a44682e">Unfortunately in this case, the lack of action led to the alerted problem causing an equipment failure a month later, resulting in significant loss of generation.&nbsp;</p>



<p id="block-0ec0c68e-4c0d-47d7-b1dc-916b8ce0a317">When acted upon, these alerts can significantly reduce costly failures and loss of production.</p>

<p>Synengco is collaborating with the energy analytics team within the Queensland Government, aiming to <strong>make informed, data-driven recommendations to policy makers</strong>. </p>



<p>Leveraging on best practice concepts from ISO 55001 and US EPA NESCS, a <strong>systematic framework for strategic decision support</strong> has been developed. By encoding data and knowledge about the NEM using <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agent-based_model" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">agent-based modelling</a>, we can conduct rigorous assessments of how each decision may impact the network and help the transition towards a sustainable energy network.</p>
